
EPOCH 1000i Phased-array UT Training
This two-day course is intended for operators and technicians who are familiar with conventional ultrasound testing (UT). It is a comprehensive training that covers all aspects of non-destructive inspection using conventional and phased-array ultrasound technologies with the Olympus EPOCH 1000i instrument.
The course covers the theory behind the phased-array technique development, characteristics of the inspection equipment, how to set it up and how to calibrate it.
The presentation also includes hands-on exercises; therefore, we encourage participants to bring their equipment as much as possible.
At the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Select proper probes and wedges for specific applications.
- Setup and calibrate the EPOCH 1000i for conventional and phased-array ultrasound inspections.
- Find and evaluate indications.
- Analyze inspection data and size defects.
- Work with acceptance criteria
- Record inspection information and make reports
Contents include:
- Basic principles, beam steering and focusing
- Scan types and data views (display types)
- Probes and wedges
- EPOCH 1000i menus and functions
- Calibration and defect sizing options
At the end of the course, there is a review of the subjects covered followed by and exam. The course duration can be extended if a more in-depth training is preferred.
